Home physics tutor jobs in Central Singapore answer a familiar problem: physics is the subject where a student can follow every step in class and still lose marks at home, because the paper asks them to produce the reasoning alone. A home tutor works at the desk where that reasoning has to happen. The role
What you will do
- Teach O-Level Physics (6091), H1 Physics (8867) or H2 Physics (9478) at the student's home, one to one or in a small group.
- Find where marks leak, in a force diagram, a circuit reduction or a wave calculation, and rebuild the idea from its principle.
- Drill laws and definitions in the syllabus's own wording until the student writes them without prompting.
- Train practical and data skills away from the lab: scale readings, uncertainty, significant figures and a gradient taken from the student's own line.
- Ask H2 students to rebuild derivations on blank paper, with every assumption named.
- Mark full school and prelim scripts against the published scheme and walk through each lost mark.
- Keep a clear record of each student's progress, with marked scripts as the evidence, and walk the student through it every few weeks.
What we look for
- A degree in physics, engineering or a related discipline.
- Tutoring experience with secondary or JC physics students.
- Command of the syllabus you offer, with calculus-level reasoning for H2.
- Readiness to travel to homes in Central Singapore at agreed times.
- You meet Singapore's home-tuition eligibility, described on this page.
- NIE training or MOE physics teaching experience is an advantage.
Pay
Hourly rate for this role
S$40 to S$100 per hour
Where you sit in the band depends on the level you teach and the experience you bring. The rate is agreed before you accept an assignment and paid on schedule.

Home tuition in Singapore is open to Singapore citizens, permanent residents, and holders of a valid pass that allows this work. We check your eligibility before your first lesson. Serving MOE teachers need MOE approval before taking paid tuition. Lessons run at the learner's home or online, and online lessons are taught from Singapore.
