Online physics tutor jobs call for the way students actually learn physics, by watching someone reason on paper: a force arrow placed on the right body, a ray bent at the right boundary, a derivation that starts from a named principle and ends at the formula in the data booklet. Eduprime is hiring online physics tutors who can do that reasoning live on a shared screen for secondary and junior college students on the Singapore MOE syllabus. You teach from home, wherever home is, in the hours when Singapore students book their lessons. Your students bring their school worksheets, their prelim papers and the question that stopped them last night, and your job is to turn each one into a method they can repeat alone in the exam hall.
Why teach physics online with Eduprime
- Home is your classroom, and every lesson runs on live video where you and the student write on the same screen.
- Your students follow one clear syllabus: O-Level Physics 6091, H1 Physics 8867 or H2 Physics 9478, with published mark schemes to teach against.
- Your levels and your available hours are yours to set, and assignments are offered to match them.
- Every lesson you teach is paid by the hour in SGD, at a rate inside the published band.
- As students in other countries ask Eduprime for physics at your level, you may be offered students beyond Singapore too.
The role
What you will do
- Teach live one-to-one or small-group physics lessons to Singapore secondary and JC students over video.
- Draw free-body diagrams, ray diagrams, circuit diagrams and field lines in real time, and have students redraw them on their own paper.
- Rebuild derivations step by step from a stated principle, so students can reproduce them on blank paper under exam time.
- Work through practical-paper skills on real readings: tables, graphs, gradients, intercepts, uncertainty and significant figures.
- Set and mark past-year and school prelim questions against the published scheme, and show students where each mark was earned or lost.
- After the lesson, each student gets a short update on what was covered, what improved and what comes next.
What we are looking for
- A strong result in A-Level, IB or equivalent physics, and for H1 and H2 students, a degree in physics, engineering or a related field.
- Working command of the MOE physics content you teach, from kinematics, energy and waves through to fields, capacitance, electromagnetic induction and quantum physics at H2.
- Clear spoken and written English, and physics definitions stated in exam wording.
- The patience to read a student's handwritten working through a camera and find the exact line where a sign or a unit slipped.
- Reliable availability for a regular weekly slot with each student across a school term.
Pay
Hourly rate for this role
S$25 to S$70 per hour
Where you sit in the band depends on the level you teach and the experience you bring. The rate is agreed before you accept an assignment and paid on schedule.
Teaching online from where you live
This role is 100% online and taught from where you live. Online lessons are taught from outside Singapore unless you are eligible to work in Singapore. You start with students in Singapore, and as intake grows Eduprime may also offer you students from other countries. Each offer depends on learners asking for your subject and level.
Your setup
Your teaching setup
What you need
- A laptop or desktop computer with a webcam and a headset or clear microphone.
- A writing surface students can watch: a tablet with a stylus, a pen tablet, or a document camera pointed at paper, for diagrams and working.
- Broadband you can rely on, and a phone you can tether if the line fails mid-lesson.
- Free hours that overlap with Singapore evenings and weekends (GMT+8). For example, 7pm in Singapore is 3pm in Dubai and 4:30pm in India.
How it works
From application to your first lesson
- 01
Apply on this page
Tell us about your physics background, which levels you would take and where you are based. It takes a few minutes.
- 02
Create your educator account
After you apply, you receive a link to create your educator account. This is where you manage your profile, lessons and schedule.
- 03
Set your levels and hours
Add O-Level, H1 or H2 Physics and the weekly hours you can teach in Singapore time. We check your details before your first assignment.
- 04
Accept an assignment and start teaching
A physics request at a level and time that fit you becomes an assignment offer. You accept it and teach your first lesson online.
Questions
Questions from physics tutors
Can I teach this role if I live outside Singapore?
Yes. The role is 100% online and you teach from home, wherever that is. Lessons are given from outside Singapore unless you are eligible to work in Singapore. Your students follow the Singapore syllabus, so your lesson hours fall in Singapore evenings and weekends.
Which physics levels will I teach?
O-Level Physics 6091 at upper secondary, and H1 Physics 8867 or H2 Physics 9478 at junior college. You choose your levels when you set up your account. H1 and H2 assignments go to tutors with a physics or engineering degree.
How do I help with the practical paper over video?
Students handle the apparatus in their school labs. In lessons you train what the paper marks in writing: planning a procedure, recording readings with the right precision, plotting a graph, taking a gradient from the drawn line, and stating uncertainty. Students send photos of their tables and graphs so you can mark them line by line.
How are students matched to me?
Each request from a student carries a subject, a level and preferred lesson times. We offer it to tutors whose levels and hours fit, and you decide whether to accept. Keeping your available hours current in your educator account helps us match you well.
Could I teach students from other countries as well?
At the start, your students are in Singapore. Physics follows the same Cambridge papers in many countries, so a student abroad may be offered to you later, once they ask us for physics at your level and at hours you teach.
How is the pay set?
Each lesson you teach is paid hourly in SGD from the band printed above; the level and your experience decide your point in it.
Do I need tutoring experience to apply?
Tutoring experience helps, and it is welcome. What matters most is a sure command of the physics you will teach and the ability to explain it clearly on a shared screen. Graduates and undergraduates with a strong physics record are welcome to apply for O-Level students.
