Art students in Singapore spend months on a single body of coursework, and what they need most is someone who can look hard at a piece in progress and say what it needs next. Online, that conversation runs through two cameras: the student's, pointed at their work, and yours, pointed down at your own paper when you demonstrate. You teach O-Level Art 6114, Higher Art 6124 or H2 Art 9357 on the MOE syllabus, from wherever you live, in hours that overlap with Singapore afternoons, evenings and weekends. We match you with students whose level and medium fit what you list. As families outside Singapore also ask Eduprime for art tuition, further students may be offered to you over time, each one depending on a family asking for your level and medium.

The role
What you will do
- Run one-to-one video lessons centred on the piece the student currently has in progress.
- Review the photographs of the week's work the student sends ahead of each lesson, and arrive with a plan for what to look at first.
- Teach observation, proportion, tone, colour and composition, and show handling of the medium through demonstrations on your own paper under an overhead camera.
- Guide idea development from artist research and thumbnails through trial pieces to a resolved outcome.
- Coach sketchbook and journal annotation so the student's intentions and choices are visible to whoever assesses the work.
- Plan the making calendar backwards from the school's coursework deadlines and keep the student on it.
- Keep authorship with the student at every stage, and report progress to parents at the intervals agreed when you are matched.
What we look for
- A current making practice in at least one visual medium, such as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and 3D, photography or digital work.
- A portfolio of recent pieces you can share with your application.
- Working knowledge of the syllabus you plan to teach: O-Level Art 6114, Higher Art 6124 or H2 Art 9357.
- Critique a teenager can act on, delivered in clear spoken and written English.
- Art-school graduates, undergraduates, designers and current or former art teachers are all welcome to apply.
Pay
Hourly rate for this role
S$25 to S$70 per hour
Where you sit in the band depends on the level you teach and the experience you bring. The rate is agreed before you accept an assignment and paid on schedule.
Teaching online from where you live
This role is 100% online and taught from where you live. Online lessons are taught from outside Singapore unless you are eligible to work in Singapore. You start with students in Singapore, and as intake grows Eduprime may also offer you students from other countries. Each offer depends on families asking for your subject and level.

What you need
- A laptop or desktop with a working webcam, microphone and headphones, plus a phone or second camera mounted above your desk to show demonstrations on paper.
- A clear drawing surface with daylight-balanced lighting, so the colour and tone the student sees on screen match what you mix.
- Broadband steady enough for an hour of live video with screen-share, and a way to receive and mark up photographs of student work.
- Regular weekly hours that overlap with Singapore afternoons, evenings or weekends (Singapore time is UTC+8).

Questions about teaching art online
Can I teach this role from outside Singapore?
Yes. The role is fully online and taught from where you live. Lessons are taught from outside Singapore unless you are eligible to work in Singapore, so if you visit Singapore, pause online lessons unless you hold that eligibility.
How do I see the student's work properly through a screen?
Students send photographs of their pieces before each lesson, taken flat and in good light, and during the lesson they angle their phone or camera at the work so you can talk through details together. You demonstrate on your own paper under an overhead camera.
Which mediums can I take?
You list the mediums you practise and teach, from drawing and painting to printmaking, sculpture and 3D, photography and digital work, and we match you only with students working in those.
Who makes the coursework?
The student does, every mark of it. You teach by looking, asking and demonstrating on your own paper, and the student carries each decision into their own piece. This keeps the work theirs and within the school's rules on authorship.
When are lessons usually held?
Mostly in Singapore afternoons and evenings after school, and on weekends. Singapore runs on UTC+8, so check how those hours fall where you live before choosing the slots you list.
Will I teach students from other countries too?
