Become a tutor with Eduprime Singapore

Online maths tutor jobs with us cover the subject Singapore students ask about first, and maths travels well over a screen when the tutor writes clearly. As an online maths tutor with Eduprime you teach one student at a time on a shared whiteboard, working through the Singapore MOE syllabus from primary problem sums to junior college calculus. You keep your own city and your own routine, and we match you with students whose level fits what you teach. The first students are in Singapore. Eduprime also hears from learners abroad who want Singapore-style maths, and those enquiries can open more teaching for you over time.

Why teach maths online with Eduprime

  • Your commute is the walk to your desk, so back-to-back evening lessons are easy to fit.
  • Your students work to one clear syllabus, so the topics, paper formats and marking rules are set out for you from the first lesson.
  • You choose the evenings and weekends you offer, and we match you to students whose lesson times fit them.
  • Online maths is most asked for at upper secondary and JC, where A-Maths and H2 Mathematics reward a tutor who can explain a proof or a derivative line by line.
  • Learners abroad who follow Singapore maths also reach out to Eduprime, which can widen the pool of students open to you.

The role

What you do

  • Teach one-to-one maths lessons over video at agreed Singapore times.
  • Find the earlier topic behind a wrong answer, such as fractions behind a ratio error or index laws behind a calculus slip, and rebuild it first.
  • Write each step of working on a shared whiteboard so the student can copy the method into their own book.
  • Mark photographed or scanned scripts against method marks, accuracy and the significant-figure rules of the paper.
  • Set timed practice in the real format, including PSLE Paper 1 without a calculator and the longer structured questions at O-Level and A-Level.
  • After each block of lessons, write a short update listing the marks recovered and the topic you tackle next, for the student and, for a primary pupil, for whoever signed them up.

What we look for

  • A bachelor degree in mathematics, engineering, a science, economics or education, or any degree plus top pre-university maths grades.
  • At least a year of maths tutoring or classroom teaching, in any country and any syllabus.
  • Clear spoken and written English, because lessons and progress updates run in English.
  • Readiness to learn the Singapore MOE syllabus and exam formats for the levels you take on.
  • A calm, patient manner with students who have lost confidence in maths.

Pay

Hourly rate for this role

S$25 to S$70 per hour

Where you sit in the band depends on the level you teach and the experience you bring. The rate is agreed before you accept an assignment and paid on schedule.

Teaching online from where you live

This role is 100% online and taught from where you live. Online lessons are taught from outside Singapore unless you are eligible to work in Singapore. You start with students in Singapore, and as intake grows Eduprime may also offer you students from other countries. Each offer depends on learners asking for your subject and level.

Your setup

Your teaching setup

What you need

  • A computer with a camera and a headset, so the student hears each explanation while watching your pen move.
  • Somewhere to write maths by hand for the camera: a pen tablet, a stylus tablet, or a document camera above paper. Diagrams, fractions and integrals need a pen.
  • Broadband quick enough for your handwriting to reach the student's screen without lag for the whole hour.
  • Regular availability in Singapore's after-school and evening hours, roughly 4pm to 10pm Singapore time (UTC+8), plus weekend slots if you can offer them.

Questions

Online maths tutor questions

Do I need to live in Singapore?

Anywhere works. Tutors abroad give every lesson from their own country. A tutor living in Singapore can take this role as a citizen, a permanent resident, or someone whose pass covers this work.

Which maths levels will I teach?

Students follow the Singapore MOE syllabus, from primary maths and PSLE through E-Maths and A-Maths at secondary to H1 and H2 Mathematics at JC. You tell us the levels you are strong in, and we match you only to those.

I have taught maths in another syllabus. Can I apply?

Yes. The core topics carry across, and what you add is the Singapore format: the bar model at primary, the split between E-Maths and A-Maths, and the way Singapore papers award method marks. Many tutors learn this quickly from past papers.

What equipment do I need to teach maths online?

Typed working is too slow for maths, so the one piece of kit that matters most is a pen: a drawing tablet, a stylus tablet or a document camera over paper. Add a camera, a headset and dependable broadband and you are ready.

When do lessons happen?

Singapore after-school evenings and weekends, on Singapore time (UTC+8). You choose the slots you offer, and the students we match to you are ones whose times fit.

Will I teach students outside Singapore?

Singapore supplies your first maths students. Eduprime also receives enquiries from students living outside Singapore, and when one needs the level you teach, that student can be offered to you.

How is the pay shown?

The hourly rate for this role is printed in the pay section of this page, in Singapore dollars. You are paid for the lessons you teach as an independent contractor.
