Apply as an online music tutor- S$25 to S$70 per hour
- Contract, flexible hours
- 100% online, from where you live

Online music tutor jobs at Eduprime serve academic music in Singapore, which asks a student to do four things well: hear, write, compose and perform. Almost all of it carries over a call once the sound is set up with care. Listening excerpts play cleanly through shared computer audio, scores sit on a shared screen, composition drafts travel back and forth as notation files, and performance work arrives as recorded takes you can mark to the bar. Eduprime is hiring tutors who can carry O-Level Music, Higher Music or H2 Music online, teaching from home wherever home is, for secondary and junior college students in Singapore during their after-school and evening hours.
Why teach music online with Eduprime
- You teach from your own room and your own instrument, so a lesson costs you no travel and your practice space doubles as your studio.
- Your students sit a clearly defined syllabus, 6085, 6086 or 9753, so every lesson has a named target in listening, analysis, composition or performance.
- Recorded takes let you give feedback that is precise to the bar and timestamp, which suits online teaching better than a single live run-through.
- Music students in other countries may follow once Singapore is underway: as Eduprime's online intake grows abroad, any learner who asks for your level can be offered to you.
- We handle the admin around each student: the enquiry, the lesson schedule and the invoicing, so your hours go into teaching music.
The role
What you will do
- Find where each student's gap sits: the ear, the written answer, notation fluency, or the instrument.
- Run guided listening with shared audio until texture, tonality, metre and instrumentation can be named from sound alone.
- Teach analytical writing on set works that uses the exact term and cites the exact bar.
- Coach composition drafts in shared notation files while the student makes every creative decision and keeps the work their own.
- Review recorded performance takes with timestamped comments and set focused practice for the week ahead.
- Plan against the school calendar and the SEAB coursework and examination dates for the student's syllabus code.
- Leave the student a short written note after every lesson.
What we look for
- Secure music theory and aural skills, including full-score reading, harmonic hearing, intervals, chord quality, cadences and metre.
- At least one instrument or voice you can demonstrate on camera with confidence.
- Knowledge of the MOE academic Music pathway, or the discipline to prepare from the current SEAB syllabus for 6085, 6086 or 9753.
- Clear written and spoken English for modelling analysis answers and explaining sound in words.
- Comfort with notation software and with sharing files, screens and audio during a live call.

Hourly rate for this role
S$25 to S$70 per hour
Where you sit in the band depends on the level you teach and the experience you bring. The rate is agreed before you accept an assignment and paid on schedule.
Teaching online from where you live
This role is 100% online and taught from where you live. Online lessons are taught from outside Singapore unless you are eligible to work in Singapore. You start with students in Singapore, and as intake grows Eduprime may also offer you students from other countries. Each offer depends on learners asking for your subject and level.
Your setup
Your teaching setup
What you need
- A laptop or desktop that runs a video call with screen share and computer-audio share at the same time, plus notation software you already use.
- Closed headphones and a microphone that carries your instrument, with the call's original-sound or music mode switched on so notes and sustain are not cut.
- A tablet with a stylus, or a camera pointed at manuscript paper, for writing out chords, voice-leading and rhythms live.
- A home connection that holds an hour of live audio and video steadily, with a mobile hotspot as a backup.
- Openings in your week that line up with Singapore's weekday evenings or weekend daytime (UTC+8).

Questions
Questions from music tutors
Can I teach from outside Singapore?
Yes. Every music lesson here is given online from your own home. If you are in Singapore, you teach only when you are eligible to work here.
How do we play or sing together when a call has a delay?
Call latency makes playing in time together unreliable, so lessons work around it. You demonstrate, the student plays back, and for assessed performance the student sends recorded takes that you review in detail.
Which syllabus do the students follow?
Singapore MOE academic Music: O-Level Music 6085, Higher Music 6086, and H2 Music 9753 at junior college. You tell us which codes you can carry, and we match you only to those.
How far can I help with composition coursework?
You coach the process: listening models, techniques, feedback on drafts and questions that move the student forward. The student writes every note, which keeps the coursework authentic under SEAB rules.
Could I teach students outside Singapore later?
Yes, that door is open. You begin with Singapore students, and as Eduprime's online intake grows into other countries, you may be offered music students there when learners ask for your subject and level.
Do I need prior tutoring experience?
Tutoring experience helps, and it is optional. What we check is your command of theory, aural skills and at least one instrument or voice, plus how clearly you explain.
