Junior College moves quickly. A JC1 student meets H2 content that asks for more abstraction than anything at O-Level, and by JC2 the Common Tests, the prelims and the national papers arrive one after another while three or four subjects peak together. Eduprime is hiring A-Level tutors to teach these students online, live and one-to-one, from wherever you are based. You work on the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level syllabus set by MOE and SEAB, you plan from the student's own marked scripts, and you teach at the level they actually sit, H1 or H2. Lessons fall in Singapore evenings and weekends, when JC students are home from school and ready to work.

The role
What you will do
- Teach live online lessons in your subject at the H1 or H2 level the student is registered for, following the current SEAB syllabus and paper format.
- Read the Common Test and prelim scripts the student uploads, identify where the marks were lost, and turn that into a plan for the weeks that remain.
- Work through school prelim papers and past-year questions under timed conditions, then go through the script together on a shared screen.
- Write out full working and annotate structured answers or essays live, so the student sees the reasoning the marker is looking for.
- Set short practice between lessons and review it at the start of the next one.
- After every four or five lessons, write the family a plain summary of which paper skills moved and which still cost marks.
What we look for
- Strong command of the subject you teach, shown by good personal A-Level results in it or a degree in the subject or a closely related field.
- Working knowledge of the current H1 and H2 syllabus for your subject, including how each paper is set and marked.
- Clear written and spoken English for explaining reasoning over a video call.
- Reliable attendance in Singapore evening and weekend slots, with notice given well ahead of any change.
- Eligibility to work in Singapore for any lesson you give while you are in Singapore.
- Former JC teachers, MOE teachers and NIE-trained tutors are welcome and are matched to the more demanding H2 work.
Pay
Hourly rate for this role
S$35 to S$90 per hour
Where you sit in the band depends on the level you teach and the experience you bring. The rate is agreed before you accept an assignment and paid on schedule.
Teaching online from where you live
This role is 100% online and taught from where you live. Online lessons are taught from outside Singapore unless you are eligible to work in Singapore. You start with students in Singapore, and as intake grows Eduprime may also offer you students from other countries. Each offer depends on families asking for your subject and level.

What you need
- A laptop or desktop with a working camera and headset, able to run a video call and share a screen at the same time.
- A writing surface you can use on screen, such as a graphics tablet or a tablet with a stylus, for integration steps, vector diagrams, free-body diagrams and reaction mechanisms.
- A stable broadband connection that holds a video call for a full lesson, with a mobile hotspot as backup.
- Your waking hours overlap Singapore evenings and weekends (Singapore time, UTC+8), which suits tutors in nearby time zones and those who keep late or early hours.

Questions from A-Level tutors
Which A-Level subjects can I teach?
Any subject on the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level syllabus that you command at the level you offer. Mathematics, the sciences, Economics and General Paper are the subjects JC students most often ask for. Tell us each subject separately and whether you teach it at H1, H2 or both.
Can I live outside Singapore?
Yes. This role is taught from where you live. If you are in Singapore when you give a lesson, you need to be eligible to work in Singapore, and we check this before your first lesson.
When are lessons usually held?
Mostly on weekday evenings and at weekends in Singapore time, since JC students have school until late afternoon. Demand is highest in the months before the prelims and the national papers, so availability from mid-year onward is especially useful.
Do I need to know the H1 and H2 papers separately?
Yes. H1 and H2 in the same subject are set and marked differently, and a JC2 student has little time to spare. You should know which topics, question types and mark schemes belong to the level you are teaching.
Could I teach students outside Singapore?
Singapore comes first. Cambridge A-Levels are sat in many countries, so as Eduprime takes on families elsewhere, an A-Level student abroad may be offered to you whenever their family asks for your subject. If a student sits a different A-Level board, we tell you before you accept.
