Apply as an Online Economics Tutor- S$35 to S$90 per hour
- Contract, flexible hours
- 100% online, from where you live

Online Economics tutor jobs at Eduprime begin where JC students struggle most, with a subject they understand in class and then lose on paper. They can recite the theory of price elasticity and still write a case-study answer that never touches the figures in the extract, or draw a clean AD/AS diagram and leave the essay paragraph beside it without a judgement. We are looking for tutors who can close that gap one lesson at a time. You teach online from home, on a shared whiteboard, working from the Singapore-Cambridge A-Level syllabus for H1 (8843) and H2 (9570) and from the marked scripts your students bring back from school. Every lesson is live, one-to-one, and timed around a JC student's evenings and weekends in Singapore.
Why teach Economics online with Eduprime
- You teach from home on your own schedule, choosing the Singapore-time slots that suit you.
- You work with JC students who already know the stakes of the A-Level year and come to lessons with real scripts to fix.
- You keep the same student from J1 into J2, so you see the whole arc from first case study to final paper.
- We handle the student's enquiry, the scheduling and the invoicing, and you spend your time on the teaching.
- JC-level learners outside Singapore who ask for online Economics at your level can be offered to you as well.
The role
What you will do
- Run live online lessons for H1 and H2 Economics students, one-to-one, on video with a shared whiteboard.
- Before teaching, go through the student's returned school essays and plan the lesson around the skill the marker found missing.
- Build diagrams with the student stroke by stroke, then ask them to explain every shift in their own words.
- Coach case-study answers that use the extract's tables and charts, including percentage change and index numbers.
- Train essay planning and evaluation under timed conditions until the student reaches a supported judgement.
- Teach Singapore's policy setting accurately, including the exchange-rate centred monetary policy.
- Give each student regular progress updates in plain language through the educator app.
What we look for
- A degree in economics or a related field, current university study in economics, or a strong A-Level, IB or equivalent Economics result of your own.
- Working knowledge of the H1 and H2 syllabus, or the readiness to learn it from the published syllabus documents before your first lesson.
- Clear written and spoken English, strong enough to coach essay paragraphs sentence by sentence.
- Reliable attendance across time zones, with lessons starting on the minute agreed with the student.
- Tutoring, school teaching or exam-marking experience is an advantage.

Teaching online from where you live
This role is 100% online and taught from where you live. Online lessons are taught from outside Singapore unless you are eligible to work in Singapore. You start with students in Singapore, and as intake grows Eduprime may also offer you students from other countries. Each offer depends on learners asking for your subject and level.

Questions
Questions from Economics tutors
Can I teach this role from outside Singapore?
Yes. Economics lessons here are fully online and taught from your home. Tutors eligible to work in Singapore can also teach it from Singapore.
I did not take the Singapore A-Levels. Can I still apply?
Yes. A strong economics background from any system is welcome. The H1 and H2 syllabus documents are public, and we expect you to know their content, question styles and mark schemes before your first lesson.
Which levels and papers will I teach?
JC students taking H1 Economics (8843) or H2 Economics (9570). Lessons cover microeconomics and macroeconomics, case-study questions built on data extracts, and essay questions that ask for evaluation.
When do lessons take place?
Most lessons fall on weekday evenings and weekends in Singapore, when JC students are home from school. You pick which of those slots you offer, and we match you with students whose timetable fits.
Could I teach students outside Singapore too?
Yes, as that part of the work grows. You start with students in Singapore, and when learners in other countries ask Eduprime for online Economics at your level, we can offer those students to you.
What does a typical lesson look like?
Most lessons open with a marked script or a question the student found hard, move to a diagram built together on the whiteboard, and close with a timed paragraph the student writes while you watch the reasoning form.
How is pay set?
Pay is per hour of lesson taught, in Singapore dollars, and the band for this role is shown on this page.
