Apply as an online IB tutor- S$35 to S$90 per hour
- Contract, flexible hours
- 100% online, from where you live

Online IB tutor jobs with Eduprime serve Diploma students in Singapore who sit six subjects, write an Extended Essay and a Theory of Knowledge essay, and submit an internal assessment in every subject, all on dates their school sets well ahead of the IB's own. Much of the final grade is decided in that coursework, months before anyone opens an examination paper. We are looking for online tutors who know a Diploma subject to HL depth, read the assessment criteria the way an examiner does, and can guide a student through a research question without ever touching the student's writing. You teach from home, wherever home is, on a schedule built around Singapore evenings and weekends.
Why teach IB online with Eduprime
- One syllabus, taught the same way worldwide. The subject guide and criteria you already know are the ones your Singapore students are assessed on.
- Coursework is where you make the biggest difference. Guiding an internal assessment from a vague idea to a focused research question is skilled work, and Diploma students value it highly.
- You stay with a student through DP1 and DP2, so you see the internal assessment, the Extended Essay and the final papers through to the end.
- Your hours fit your life. Lessons run in Singapore evenings and weekends, and you choose the slots you open.
- Diploma students study in many countries. As our online intake grows, Diploma students outside Singapore may ask for your subject and level too, and each of those students is offered to you to accept or decline.
The role
What you will do
- Teach your Diploma subject at the level each student sits, HL or SL, following the current subject guide.
- Plan the term backwards from the school's internal deadlines for the internal assessment, the Extended Essay and mock examinations.
- Coach the research question, the choice of method and the evaluation against the published criteria, while every sentence of the work stays the student's own.
- Link subject lessons to Theory of Knowledge questions where the syllabus invites it, so the student arrives at the TOK essay with material to use.
- Work through past papers in the closing months: command terms, calculator technique, timing and the mark scheme's expectations.
- Report progress to the student through Eduprime on a regular schedule, including where coursework stands against the school calendar.
What we look for
- At least a year of teaching or tutoring an IB Diploma subject on the current guide, in a school or privately.
- The IB Diploma, a degree in your subject, or a teaching qualification, with the subjects and levels you teach named clearly (for example Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL, or Economics SL).
- Working knowledge of the assessment criteria, the internal assessment weighting in your subject and the IB's academic integrity rules.
- Clear spoken and written English, and a calm way of explaining hard material to a tired sixteen or seventeen year old at the end of a school day.
- You teach from outside Singapore, or you are eligible to work in Singapore.
Pay
Hourly rate for this role
S$35 to S$90 per hour
Where you sit in the band depends on the level you teach and the experience you bring. The rate is agreed before you accept an assignment and paid on schedule.
Teaching online from where you live
This role is 100% online and taught from where you live. Online lessons are taught from outside Singapore unless you are eligible to work in Singapore. You start with students in Singapore, and as intake grows Eduprime may also offer you students from other countries. Each offer depends on learners asking for your subject and level.
Your setup
Your teaching setup
What you need
- A laptop or desktop with a webcam and a headset, able to run a video call and a shared screen together.
- Something to write on that the student sees as you write, such as a pen tablet or a camera over paper, for derivations, graphs, diagrams and annotated source extracts.
- A dependable home broadband line, plus a phone hotspot you can switch to so an internal assessment consultation is never cut short.
- Regular free hours between 5 pm and 10 pm Singapore time (UTC+8) on weekdays, or weekend slots, the times Diploma students are home from school.
- For Mathematics and the sciences, a graphing calculator or its emulator, so you can show the student the exact key presses the exam allows.

Questions
Questions from IB tutors
Can I teach from outside Singapore?
It is. IB lessons here happen entirely on video, taught from your own home. Tutors living in Singapore qualify if they are citizens, permanent residents or holders of a valid pass that allows this work. A tutor living abroad teaches from home, and lessons wait for your return if you are visiting Singapore without that eligibility.
Which Diploma subjects are you hiring for?
We take applications for any Diploma subject you teach to the current guide, at HL, SL or both. Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches and Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation are separate courses, so tell us which one you teach, or both.
How much can I help with the internal assessment and Extended Essay?
You coach the thinking: the research question, the method, reading the criteria and judging the student's own work against them. The writing stays the student's, and formal draft feedback comes from the student's teacher or supervisor at school. Your help follows the IB's academic integrity rules and the school's policy.
Which time zones work best?
Singapore runs on UTC+8, and most lessons fall between 5 pm and 10 pm on weekdays, with more slots on weekends. Tutors whose working day ends before Singapore evening begins, or who are free at those hours, fit most easily.
How is my rate set and paid?
The hourly band for this role is printed on this page in Singapore dollars. Your rate for each student is agreed in writing before the first lesson, and you are paid on a fixed schedule for the lessons you teach.
Could I teach IB students outside Singapore as well?
Yes, that opportunity grows with our online intake. You start with Diploma students in Singapore. When IB students in other countries ask for your subject and level, we offer those students to you, and you decide whether to take them on.
