The role
What you will do
- Open each new student with a diagnostic lesson built on their latest marked script, and find where the working broke: moles, concentration, limiting reagent or percentage yield.
- Draw structures, energy profile diagrams and curly-arrow mechanisms live on the shared writing surface, so the student sees each electron pair move in the order the examiner expects.
- Coach qualitative analysis answers until observations are written in the wording the mark scheme accepts.
- Work through titration results from the student's photographed readings to the average titre and the calculation that follows it.
- Prepare H2 candidates for the practical paper and its planning question, and O-Level candidates for the planning demand in their practical paper, by designing experiments together on screen.
- Keep pace with the school's current topic so the next class test stays manageable while earlier gaps are repaired.
- Keep the agreed weekly slot in Singapore time, and after each run of lessons tell the family which mechanisms, calculations and practical skills have settled.
What we look for
- Strong Chemistry results at the level you teach: a good A-Level H2 grade or an equivalent pre-university result for O-Level students, and a degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmacy, life sciences or medicine for H1 and H2 students.
- Working command of the Singapore O-Level or A-Level Chemistry syllabus you register for.
- Clear spoken and written English, because lessons, notes and Singapore exam answers are all in English.
- Regular weekly availability during Singapore after-school hours or weekends.
- You teach from your own home. If you teach while in Singapore, you need to be a Singapore citizen, a permanent resident or the holder of a valid pass that allows this work.
Pay
Hourly rate for this role
S$25 to S$70 per hour
Where you sit in the band depends on the level you teach and the experience you bring. The rate is agreed before you accept an assignment and paid on schedule.
Teaching online from where you live
This role is 100% online and taught from where you live. Online lessons are taught from outside Singapore unless you are eligible to work in Singapore. You start with students in Singapore, and as intake grows Eduprime may also offer you students from other countries. Each offer depends on families asking for your subject and level.

What you need
- A computer with camera and headset, strong enough to keep the video call and a shared whiteboard open side by side while you draw mechanisms.
- A writing surface for chemistry, such as a drawing tablet, a tablet with a stylus, or a document camera over paper, so structures, mechanisms and working stay legible on screen.
- A stable broadband connection in a quiet room, with a mobile hotspot ready as a backup.
- Time-zone overlap with Singapore weekday afternoons, evenings and weekends (Singapore time is UTC+8), when most students take their lessons.

Which syllabuses will I teach?
Mostly Singapore O-Level Chemistry (6092) and A-Level H1 and H2 Chemistry, following the MOE syllabus. Every offer names the level and syllabus before you accept it.
How do practical skills work in an online lesson?
Students do the hands-on work in their school labs. In your lessons you teach what the practical papers mark: observation wording, titration data processing, and planning an experiment with its variables, controls and safety points.
Do I need tutoring experience?
Tutoring experience helps, and graduates with strong Chemistry results who can explain a mole calculation one step at a time are welcome to apply.
Will I teach students outside Singapore?
Your first students are in Singapore. Chemistry is taught to the same Cambridge standard in many countries, so a family abroad asking Eduprime for Chemistry at your level could be matched with you.
When are lessons held?
Mostly on weekday afternoons and evenings and at weekends, Singapore time. You set your available hours in your educator account and we match within them.
