Apply as an Online Science Tutor- S$25 to S$70 per hour
- Contract, flexible hours
- 100% online, from where you live

Online science tutor jobs at Eduprime begin from one fact about the subject: science in Singapore is examined in words. A child can know exactly why a puddle shrinks on a hot afternoon and still lose the mark because the answer never says that the water gained heat and evaporated. This role is for tutors who enjoy closing that gap. You teach Primary 3 to Primary 6 students heading for the PSLE, and Secondary 1 and 2 students meeting cells, particles, circuits and fair tests at the subject level their school has placed them in. Every lesson is live and online, taught from your own home, with the student's marked papers on the shared screen and a pen in your hand for the diagrams.
Why teach Science online with Eduprime
- You teach from your own desk, keep to your own clock, and pick the lesson slots that suit your week.
- Each student brings real material to work on: returned test papers, school worksheets and the questions that tripped them up, so every lesson starts with a clear target.
- Science comes alive through a screen more easily than people expect. A torch and a pencil give you a lesson on shadows, and a glass of ice water opens a lesson on condensation.
- Science requests at a level you teach come with the student's level and preferred times, and you decide whether to take each one.
- Science students in Singapore come first. Learners in other countries also study Science on the MOE syllabus, and when they come to us, you may be offered them as well.
The role
What you will do
- Teach live online Science lessons, one-to-one or in small groups, for Primary 3 to Secondary 2 students on the Singapore MOE syllabus.
- Go through each student's marked school papers before the lesson and sort every lost mark into a missing concept, a misread question or an answer that stopped too early.
- Rebuild open-ended answers step by step, from cause to process to effect, using the keywords the marking expects, until the student can write them again without help.
- Draw and label diagrams live on a shared whiteboard: plant transport, the digestive system, circuit diagrams, particle models and states of matter.
- Turn simple experiments at the student's own table into practice on variables, fair tests and conclusions that stay within what the results show.
- Write a short note after lessons, shared with whoever registered a primary pupil: what was practised, where the student got stronger and what to work on next.
What we are looking for
- A bachelor's degree, preferably with Science, engineering, medicine or a related field in your own studies.
- At least six months of experience tutoring or teaching Science to children or young teenagers.
- Working knowledge of the MOE Primary Science themes of Diversity, Cycles, Systems, Interactions and Energy, and of how the PSLE Science paper is marked, or be ready to learn both before your first lesson.
- Comfort across biology, chemistry and physics content at lower secondary level, since one student may bring all three to a single lesson.
- Clear English, and the patience to let a ten-year-old explain an idea out loud before helping them write it down.

Teaching online from where you live
This role is 100% online and taught from where you live. Online lessons are taught from outside Singapore unless you are eligible to work in Singapore. You start with students in Singapore, and as intake grows Eduprime may also offer you students from other countries. Each offer depends on learners asking for your subject and level.

Your teaching setup
What you need
- A laptop or desktop computer with a working webcam and a headset or microphone that keeps your voice clear.

Questions
Questions from Science tutors
Is this open to tutors who live abroad?
Yes. Science lessons here all happen on video, so you teach from home in whichever country you live in. Online lessons are taught from outside Singapore unless you are eligible to work in Singapore, which covers Singapore citizens, permanent residents and valid pass holders whose pass allows this work.
Which syllabus and levels will I teach?
Primary Science from Primary 3 to the PSLE, and Lower Secondary Science in Secondary 1 and 2, all on the Singapore MOE syllabus. At Lower Secondary, students take Science at the subject level their school has set, and you pitch each lesson to that level.
How do I teach experiments through a screen?
Use what the student already has at home. A torch, a mirror, a bowl of water or a sheet of paper can carry a full lesson on light, heat or evaporation. You set the question, the student changes one thing and watches what happens, and together you write the conclusion the way an exam answer expects.
Primary 3 students are young. How do online lessons hold their attention?
Short tasks, quick sketches and objects they can hold keep a young learner busy on screen. For the first few lessons with younger students, a parent nearby helps with the setup and settles the routine.
How are students matched to me?
We match on level, subject strength and time slots. When a student's request fits what you set in your profile, it is sent to you to accept. Students in Singapore come first, and students in other countries may be offered to you as learners there ask for the MOE syllabus.
Where can I see the pay for this role?
Science lessons pay by the hour in Singapore dollars, and the band on this page is the same figure the job listing shows.
